About Showcase.

PARENT & STUDENT INFORMATION

When: Sunday 17 May 2026

Where: Warriewood Community Centre, North Hall

Doors 2:30pm  |  Show 3:00pm

Showcase is an exciting event designed to help build kids' confidence on stage and showcase to parents what they have been working on in class.

The event serves as a stepping stone that prepares students for our end-of-year production.

In the build-up to the event, students will learn various performance aspects, teamwork, and stagecraft. They will get an opportunity to experience what it takes to be a great audience member and prepare for a performance. They will also learn about what it is like backstage and get a feel for being on stage.

Showcase is an excellent platform for students to demonstrate their talents and improve their performance skills. They will learn how to perform, how to calm their nerves and work effectively as a team. The event will help them gain confidence, feel proud of themselves, and build their self-esteem.

Staying Informed.

Dedication to performance commitments is the responsibility of both students and their parents.

Keeping you informed is one of our primary goals. Please read all the information carefully.

We share information quickly via our Band app, and through our regular 'In the Loop' monthly newsletters emailed to everyone.

Uniforms.

Students are required to wear Ferocity studio uniform for their Showcase performance. For the most part this involves no changing during the show other than footwear, and perhaps adding a black skirt for Ballet or a T-shirt over the top of their leotard for Hip Hop.

Please make sure your child has their correct studio uniform NOW, Including the correct dance shoes for the style they are performing.

If you do not have them, please sort this out ASAP as sizes may not be available closer to the date.

NOTE: For safety - No jewellery or watches are to be worn while dancing.

Planning

Gather all uniform items including shoes several days in advance so you know if anything is missing.

Make a checklist of your child's routines, listing the uniform and footwear needed, and refer to it before leaving for the venue.

Dance Shoes!
Check students have Pink Ballet shoes, Black jazz/tap shoes,
and WHITE HIP HOP SHOES ONLY!! (no coloured shoes on tarkette!)

Make sure your child's name is on all items of clothing and dance shoes so they do not get lost or mixed up with others.

Hair & Make up.

HAIR
Your hair will stay in the same style throughout the entire show, so pick a style that matches your dance genres.

Students may wear their hair in any style they like so long as it is 'Done' and not out.

Examples slick ponytails, braids, plaits, bun. Make sure Hair is sprayed and secured with gel or hairspray. No pins as they can fall out on stage and become a hazard during lifts and flips.

Boys' hair should be brushed/styled so it is not covering their eyes. Pull it back in a ponytail or wear a bandana if its long so we can see your face.

MAKE UP

Dancing on stage under warm lights can wash out features, which is why we wear stage make-up — to enhance facial expressions and make features visible from the audience.

Female students are to arrive wearing stage make-up including: Foundation or BB cream, Mascara, Blush, Brow pencil.
Senior dancers may wear red lips; juniors should opt for a natural pink gloss.

Male dancers can use foundation or bb cream 1 shade darker than skin, translucent powder and brow pencil to accentuate features if desired.
